So, evidently I'm -still- garbage at updating my blog, despite my repeated resolutions to be better at it. What can I say? I suck! That said: I can dump a huge load of updates on you all now--bwa-ha-ha!!
First: I've just finished working on two projects back-to-back: a new television series for the CBC called Caught, which is based on the novel of the same name, and a feature film called An Audience of Chairs, also based off a novel of the same name. On both of these projects, I served as the Assistant Locations Manager--which is a definite step-up from the work I'd been doing before. Not that I didn't enjoy it, but it definitely qualifies as a promotion so that's pretty exciting. Here's hoping for some more work along those lines in the future, and that this wasn't just a fluke. Next: I've actually been getting to do some acting lately...which is amazing! For anyone who doesn't know, I started in this industry with acting as my main focus, and then I diverted into different directions in hopes that I'd succeed at just one of any of them, and acting fell by the wayside. But this year, I've been in two short 10-minute plays (I was Sal in The Canadian Tuxedo and Steve in Mediocrity), and I also have just been cast as Michael in a new play called The Last of the Second Chances which will debut (!!!) at the St. John's Short Play Festival in September this year. To say that I'm excited would be an understatement, because this is a 45 minute play, and it will represent the first piece of long-form "real" theatre I will have ever done. The play was written by Darryl Davis, and will be directed by Sandra Mills. Finally: August 25-27 will be Avalon Expo 3. I'm ecstatic to report that I will, once again, be the official Master of Ceremonies. The guests this year include Linda Ballantyne (voice of Sailor Moon), Katie Griffiths (voice of Sailor Mars), Rene Auberjonois (Odo from DS9), Colin Baker (6th Doctor) and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls, Guardians of the Galaxy 2). The event is happening at Mile One Centre, and I'm stoked to be one of the familiar faces and voice you'll be able to find there, especially next to such an incredible line-up such as this. OK, so those are my updates. You can see why I don't always have time to update this thing on the regular now, I guess--but I'm still going to try. We've all seen how well that works, but dagnabbit I'm going to try anyway! Thanks all!

According to John Lennon, "Time that you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted". You might not have updates in your blog for some time but at least you have done some things you have enjoyed doing. If you enjoy what you do, then go. With your work, you will have more stories and updates to share with us that we can also appreciate. So have fun working and till your next update.
